Dr. Sushil Vachani
Dr. Sushil Vachani is a professor of strategy and policy at the Boston University School of Management. His prior business experience includes working as an engineer with Phillips India, as a manager with the Tata Group and as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group.

In the past, Dr. Vachani also spent five years as faculty director of the International Management Program offered by the School of Management of Kobe, Japan.

During his time with the DFP Fellows, Dr. Vachani spoke about strategies adopted by various stakeholders. Specific focus was given to pricing strategies utilized by different pharmaceutical companies. Vachani led a debate between the Fellows about the objectives of these enterprises, with some feeling strongly that the primary objective is profit, while others argued for social concern. Vachani detailed the roles played by the government, NGOs and the private sector and how these roles intersect. Fellows were able to use the case study presented by Vachani to develop a comprehensive understanding of the policy strategies adopted by various stake holders.
